Guidelines for Evaluating Graphics Scalability

                        Guidelines for Evaluating Graphics Scalability

Sometimes it is difficult to know whether or not you can increase the size of the image without losing quality. Follow these guidelines for evaluating graphics scalability;
* If you cannot tell what type of image it is, zoom in on a specific area so that you can see the presence or absence of pixels.
* Check the file location of the image to find out what type of file it is.
   - If it is an Illustrator, EPS, or TIFF file type, you are likely able to increase the without any repercussions.
   - If it is a JPG or PNG, you will experience loss of quality when increasing the size.
* If the image is a JPG, try to find it in a larger resolution so that increase in size is not required.
* If possible, create the image in Illustrator. Vector images can increase in size exponentially without losing quality.
